Hello and welcome to my blog!
As the tagline says, I am interested in new materials technologies, industry dynamics and business strategy. My focus is on “cool” specialty materials, although I agree that commodity materials are an important part of our economy. A majority of my posts, therefore, will relate to high-end materials and applications. Once in a while, I may write about commodity materials if something interesting comes up.
I have a PhD in Polymer Science & Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have over 8 years of experience developing new materials and applications for consumer healthcare, personal care and engineering plastics. I am passionate about new ideas and technologies and love to work in the early stages of opportunity assessment, technology assessment and business development. I have 13 granted US patents, 9 pending applications, and 9 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
If interested, you can view my LinkedIn profile.
I enjoy photography, travel, reading/writing and spending time with my family. I like to run and, having done my first half-marathon last year, hope to train for a marathon next.

Mr. Agarwal,
What is your email address?
Hi:
Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. May I ask the nature of your inquiry about my email? I would like to get a better feeling of your interests so we can communicate better. Regards.
We like to do some research on PCM in air conditioning and heating for the building and other applications with very high heat storage capacity about 400 KJ/Kg. If you are interested let me know.
Hi,
I am a Mechanical Engineering student in the University of California, Santa Barbara. I and my team are working on the Final Year Project that applies PCM’s to house construction. I have found your blog and research very helpful. May I ask how and when you can get the PCM’s you’ve mentioned in the blog (n-Heptadecane)? We are having a great difficulty in finding the materials. We appreciate your kindness.
Thank you
Hi Alex:
You may want to try Aldrich Chemicals for lab scale quantities.

I am sure there are other suppliers you can search for in the web.
Just for your information, I am not currently doing any work with PCM’s. What I wrote on my blog was based on my past experience.
Good luck with your project.
